DreamHack has announced that it has renewed its partnership with Twitch for 2017. The announcement marks the 9th year of the partnership between the two companies.

All of DreamHack’s upcoming events will be streamed to Twitch, including DreamHack Astro Open, DreamLeague, DreamHack Masters, and the DreamHack Hearthstone Grand Prix circuit.

The news may not be surprising at first glance, but is worth noting given the recently revealed partnerships between organizations such as WESA and YouTube Gaming, who announced that the CS:GO Pro League Seasons 5 and 6 will be streamed exclusively on YouTube. Similarly, FaceIt recently announced a multi-year partnership with YouTube to stream the Esports Championships Series exclusively on its platform.

DreamHack was one of the first to adopt Twitch as a streaming platform; the two companies partnered in 2009 via former parent company Justin.tv.

“It’s not everyday in this space you renew a partnership entering its 9th year,” said CEO of DreamHack Marcus Lindmark in a press release. “We are proud to continue to partner with Twitch, knowing they are as committed to the development of esports and gaming as DreamHack.”

The next DreamHack event will be hosted at the Austin Convention Center on April 28-30. DreamHack Austin will feature the DreamHack ASTRO Open, WCS Austin, DreamHack Hearthstone Grand Prix, DreamHack Smash Championship, Capcom Tour, and more.
