Donte Whitner: It's 'very frustrating' to face Dak Prescott, who stiff-armed the safety

One play that got lost a bit in the shuffle of the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day victory over the Washington Redskins was rookie QB Dak Prescott’s beautiful stiff arm of Donte Whitner.

The Redskins safety, who famously wanted to change his last name to “Hitner” for his physical style, got trucked by Prescott on a pretty run in the 31-26 victory.

After the game, per the Dallas Morning News, Whitner expressed his frustration with defending Prescott.

“They’re very frustrating. You have a lot of quarterbacks in the National Football League that take chances with the football and [you] get the opportunity for interceptions,” Whitner said. “To put the ball on the ground when you get to them, when you sack them. This quarterback doesn’t do that.”

That was about Prescott’s poise. But yeah, Prescott also flashed some power too on that run. It’s all part of what has made the quarterback special in his first season, Whitner said.

“That’s why he’s playing so well,” Whitner said. “He understands situations, he’s not trying to turn the football over, and he’s taking this opportunity and running with it.”

Or running over people.
