Ryan Tannehill had a big day passing, leading the way to a rout for the Dolphins over the Jets, 23-3, at MetLife Stadium.
Tannehill threw for a respectable 331 yards on 28 of 43 passing, two touchdowns and one pick. On the Jets side, Matt Simms did not fare as well on the day, going 9 of 18 with 79 yards passing, no touchdowns, one pick and one fumble.
Lamar Miller ran for 72 yards on 22 carries in addition to one reception for 13 yards. Brian Hartline was a highlight, pulling in nine passes for 127 yards with a touchdown.
The Miami defense was the deciding factor in the victory, keeping the Jets in check with 99 yards rushing and 108 passing while forcing two interceptions. They harassed Simms and the Jets offensive line with an imposing four sacks.
Jets running back Chris Ivory put up 61 yards rushing and 12 receiving.
Next week, the Dolphins travel to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers (5-7) while the Jets are at home against the Raiders (4-8).
