The Mavericks put together a very efficient performance, turning it over on only eight possessions while totaling 22 assists. Dallas (25-18) gets one in the win column after losing to Portland on Saturday.
Nowitzki shot 8-20 from the field. Other top performers for Dallas were Monta Ellis with 22 points and 8 assists, and Jose Calderon with 11 points and 6 assists. Kyrie Irving had another strong performance for Cleveland in the loss, scoring 26 points on 10-27 shooting, including 2-6 from behind the arc. He also added 9 assists. Tristan Thompson contributed 19 points and 10 rebounds and Anderson Varejao finished with 18 points and 21 rebounds.
The Mavericks posted a sterling assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.75. This year, they are 8-4 when they exceed 2.50 in this metric. Conversely, the Cavaliers are 2-4 when allowing their opponents to achieve such a stellar ratio.
Cleveland (15-26) couldn't get consecutive victories after beating Denver on Friday.
