Did Charlie Sheen just try to put a curse on the Indians?

Actor Charlie Sheen, who portrayed the iconic character Rick “Wild Thing” Vaughn, a fictional Cleveland Indians pitcher in the classic film “Major League,” has not been happy with the Indians since his plea to throw out the first pitch before a World Series game was denied.

Now it appears he’s firing back with the best known tactic aimed at preventing a franchise from winning a World Series: A curse.

But not just any curse, a curse involving a goat.

Everyone is familiar with the Curse of the Billy Goat, which some believe has afflicted the Chicago Cubs since losing their last appearance in the World Series in 1945. It appears Sheen is attempting to reverse the Cubs curse while placing the Curse of Charlie Sheen, or even Rick Vaughn, on the Indians.

The Wild Thing Curse might work too.

It’s a scary thought, isn’t it Indians fans? Not that the curse will be a real thing, mind you, but more so that Sheen would never let the fans or the franchise live it down should the Indians manage to lose this World Series, which was extended to a Game 7 after the Cubs beat the Indians, 9-3, on Tuesday night.

When Sheen originally sent the tweet, the Indians were down big in the fifth inning on Tuesday. This comes after Cleveland took a commanding 3-1 series lead in Chicago.

As for the goats in question, they were certainly not brought to Progressive Field to curse the Indians. As MLB.com’s Cut 4 notes, Indians fans Alan and Beth Mancuso from nearby Ohio City brought them in last Monday hoping to ensure the Cubs curse would continue.

Truth be told, all the goats in the world couldn’t influence this historic and now classic World Series.
