Free agent Krys Barch, a physical right wing, finalized a two-year deal with the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday. Financial terms of the deal were not available.
The two sides first reached a contract agreement last week.
Last season, Barch, 31, carried a cap hit of $837,500.
Barch had two goals, three assists and 114 penalty minutes in 51 games last season, which he split between the Dallas Stars and the Florida Panthers. He had played 5 1/2 seasons with Dallas before he was traded to Florida in December for a minor-leaguer.
Barch has topped 100 penalty minutes in each of his six NHL seasons, but his career highs for a single season are four goals and six assists.
