The New Jersey Devils agreed to a one-year contract with 41-year-old veteran Jaromir Jagr on Monday.
ESPN reported that the deal should be made official Tuesday.
The deal could be worth about $4 million.
Last season, Jagr had 16 goals and 19 assists in 45 games combined with the Dallas Stars and Boston Bruins.
Jagr will take the spot of Ilya Kovalchuk, who left for the KHL in Russia and free agent David Clarkson.
