MIAMI (AP) -- A detective says the suspect accused of killing NFL safety Sean Taylor freely admitted breaking into the Washington Redskins star's home, kicking down the bedroom door and shooting Taylor.
Detective Juan Segovia testified Thursday in 23-year-old Eric Rivera Jr.'s murder trial. The detective said initially Rivera told investigators he went to the movies on the weekend Taylor was shot in 2007. Later, he grew nervous when he saw detectives interviewing another suspect and confessed.
The detective says Rivera drew a diagram of the home with stick figures labeling himself as Taylor's shooter.
Prosecutors say Rivera and four others from the Fort Myers area thought Taylor would be playing a Redskins game, but he was home with an injury.
