Derrick Rose: (Knee) Cleared To Play Staff

Update: Rose (knee) has been cleared to play, ESPN Chicago reports. Coach Tom Thibodeau said Rose is "getting there" but he's "not quite there yet."

Recommendation: The Bulls are still aiming for a mid-March return for Rose, which would be 10 months after his knee surgery. He has been able to participate in 5-on-5 scrimmages since Feb. 18, but he is reportedly not quite ready mentally to return to game action, as he is not yet confident dunking off his left foot in a game situation. While there is still improvement to be made before he can play in game action, the fact that he has been cleared to play means his return is bound to come sooner rather than later. When Rose does return, Kirk Hinrich and Nate Robinson will take major hits in value.
