Derek Jeter is officially a married man

We take a break from another wild weekend around Major League Baseball to report that former New York Yankees captain Derek Jeter has finally said the words “I do.”

As first reported by People Magazine, Jeter and his fiancee Hannah Davis were officially married Saturday night in an intimate ceremony on a golf course at Meadowood Napa Valley Resort in St. Helena, Cali.

A picture of the happy newlyweds graces the cover of Sunday’s New York Post.

The couple has been dating for nearly four years. Rumors started surfacing last October that Jeter was engaged to the 26-year-old Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover model. Jeter confirmed those reports in November when he referred to Davis as his fiancee in a blog post on The Players Tribune.

Details of the wedding were kept mostly hush-hush. There were conflicting reports on the date and the location, but we suspected it was coming soon after Jeter was spotted at a possible bachelor party on June 15 with former Yankees teammates Andruw Jones, Tino Martinez and Jorge Posada. It turned out the big day was Saturday, and apparently everything went off without a hitch, if you’ll pardon the pun.

We offer our congratulations to the happy couple and wish them well as they enter a new and hopefully fulfilling chapter in their lives.
