Knowshon Moreno had a big night running the football, but it wasn't enough to avoid a late loss for the Broncos against the Patriots, 34-31, in Foxborough.
Peyton Manning found the end zone two times on 19 of 36 passing for 150 yards and one pick. Tom Brady had a better game for the Patriots, and wound up 34 for 50 with 344 yards passing, three touchdowns and one fumble.
Moreno was a key factor for the Broncos, rushing for 224 yards on 37 carries with a touchdown. Jacob Tamme was a highlight, catching five passes for 47 yards with a touchdown.
The Denver defense had a decent day, highlighted by giving up 116 yards rushing and 344 passing while taking back one fumble for a touchdown. They sacked Brady three times.
Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman could not be contained, putting up 110 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Tight end Rob Gronkowski also performed well with 90 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Broncos head to Kansas City next week to face the Chiefs (9-2) while the Patriots go to Houston to play the Texans (2-9).
