ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Brett Olson scored a team-high 19 points to lead Denver to a 78-71 victory over Division II Alaska Anchorage in the Great Alaska Shootout on Saturday.
Olson hit 7 of 11 from the field and sank four crucial 3-pointers late in the second half. He also had five rebounds and five assists. Chris Udofia scored 15 points with seven assists and four blocks. Jalen Love had 13 points, a pair of rebounds and four assists. The Pioneers (1-4) hit 75 percent from the line and 52.5 percent from the field.
With Denver down by 15 with less than two minutes left in the first period, Bryant Rucker and Love hit back-to-back 3-pointers to help trim the Seawolves' halftime advantage to seven. In the second, the Pioneers took the lead with Olson hitting four 3-pointers.
Travis Thompson led the Seawolves with a game-high 20 points and three assists.
