It’s safe to say that Bill Self and his staff received some welcoming news on Monday afternoon. Memphis transfers K.J. Lawson, the 6-foot-7, 210-pound guard/forward from Hamilton High School in Memphis, Tenn., along with his brother, Dedric Lawson, the 6-foot-9, 236-pound guard/forward from Hamilton High School in Memphis, Tenn., have decided to transfer to the University of Kansas.
K.J. Lawson, who averaged 12.3 points and 8.1 rebounds per game in 34 minutes of action this pasts season, made the announcement earlier today via Twitter.com.

Dedric Lawson, quite possibly the most coveted transfer this offseason, averaged 19.2 points, 9.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game last season and was a second-team all AAC performer for the Tigers.
Coming out of Hamilton High School in Memphis, Tenn., Dedric Lawson was the No. 33 ranked player in the 2015 class. A McDonald’s All-American, he selected Memphis over interest from the likes of Arkansas, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Stanford, Tennessee and others.
