Texas Rangers right-hander Yu Darvish was ruled out of his scheduled start Friday due to a stiff neck.
"I slept on it wrong," Darvish said, according to ESPNDallas.com. "If I have two or three days it will be fine."
Darvish was scheduled to throw 90 pitches Friday as he prepares to start Opening Day against the Philadelphia Phillies on March 31.
As long as Darvish makes his next start, he should be good to go for the season opener.
Last year, Darvish went 13-9 with a 2.83 ERA and 277 strikeouts in 209 2/3 innings. He placed second in the American League Cy Young award voting.
