The Dallas Stars have returned defenseman Jordie Benn to the team's AHL affiliate in Austin.
The older brother of Dallas forward Jamie Benn has been with the team since being recalled from the Texas Stars on March 12, but has not seen game action during that span. He played two games for Dallas in January, picking up his first NHL point with an assist on Loui Eriksson's goal in a loss to the Red Wings on January 3.
In 56 games for Texas this season, the elder Benn has nine goals and 19 assists. Jamie Benn, in his third season with Dallas, has registered career bests in goals (26), assists (36) and plus-minus (17) this season.
Dallas (42-32-5, fourth in Pacific Division), hosts the Sharks (40-29-10, third in Pacific Division) on Tuesday night at the American Airlines Center. With a win, the Stars would overtake San Jose for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, and could potentially tie the Kings and Coyotes for the Pacific Division lead.
