Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry broke the NBA's single-season record for 3-pointers in a season when he hit his second of the game Wednesday against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Curry, 25, made his 270th 3-pointer in the middle of the second quarter at the Rose Garden, passing the mark set by Ray Allen with the Seattle SuperSonics in 2005-06.
Entering the night, Curry was shooting 45.5 percent from 3-point range (268-for-589). His total number of attempts from long distance also led the league.
When Allen set the mark, he made 269 of 653 attempts (41.3 percent).
The Warriors, playing their regular-season finale, were aiming for a win that would wrap up the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference playoffs. A Golden State win would set up a first-round postseason matchup against the Denver Nuggets.
