Chicago Cubs third baseman Ian Stewart will miss 10-14 days with a strained left quadriceps, the Chicago Tribune reported Saturday.
Stewart was injured rounding first base during an intrasquad game on Wednesday. An MRI showed a mild-to-moderate strain.
Stewart is competing for a starting spot.
He batted .201 with five home runs and a .627 OPS in 55 games with the Cubs last year. He missed the second half of the season after having left wrist surgery.
