The Washington Redskins added to their coaching staff on Wednesday, hiring Larry Coyer as an advance scout and Aubrey Pleasant as an offensive assistant.
Coyer brings a wealth of experience to the Redskins. Most recently, he worked as defensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts from 2009 to 2011.
In Washington, Coyer will be reunited with coach Mike Shanahan. Coyer spent seven seasons in Denver on Shanahan's staff, including the final four years as defensive coordinator from 2003 to 2006. He then moved on to Tampa Bay as assistant head coach and defensive line coach for two seasons.
Before coming to the NFL, Coyer was a college defensive coordintor at Iowa, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, East Carolina and Pittsburgh.
Pleasant served as an intern with the Cleveland Browns after two years as a defensive graduate assistant at Michigan. In 2012, he was the Wolverines' assistant defensive backs coach.
