Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware will have surgery on Thursday to repair a torn labum in his right shoulder, reported Wednesday.
Ware hopes to be cleared in time to participate in training camp.
Ware wore a brace down over the last few games to protect a hyperextended right elbow. He will not have surgery for that problem now, but that remains an option for later.
Ware had 11.5 sacks this past season, but only 1.5 in the final six games.
