The Dallas Cowboys signed linebacker Orie Lemon off of the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad Thursday.
The move bolsters a linebacker spot in need of some depth because of injuries at the position.
Linebackers Sean Lee and Justin Durant are both injured and expected to miss at least this week's game against the New York Giants before returning to the lineup.
Lemon spent two years with the Cowboys and played five games with the team in 2012, making five tackles before going on injured reserve. He was with the Chiefs and Cardinals this year.
The move could also be protection for linebacker DeVonte Holloman, who has been battling a neck injury and just went through contact for the first time since the spinal contusion.
