Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones sustained a bruised knee against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, according to ESPN Dallas.
With starter DeMarco Murray nursing a sprained left foot, the Cowboys running game is uncertain heading into next week's game against the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants.
Jones spent much of the Cowboys' last two offensive possessions on the bench after carrying the ball 15 times for 44 yards in a 19-14 win over the Panthers.
Phillip Tanner took over for Jones and had three rushes for four yards down the stretch.
Dallas is hopeful Murray will return this week and Jones' status is not yet known. Murray was injured against the Baltimore Ravens on Oct. 14. He wore a protective boot and was on crutches last week. He will have further tests Monday.
