Valencia and Cadiz played out a lackluster 0-0 draw at Ramon de Carranza on Tuesday in the first leg of their Copa del Rey Round of 32 contest in a match which saw little attacking creativity.

A goal each from Jose Callejon and Cristiano Ronaldo either side of halftime proved enough for 10-man Real Madrid to comfortably see off Spanish Segunda B side Ponferradina, sealing a 2-0 victory despite Raul Albiol being sent off.

Three goals in the first 40 minutes saw Osasuna comfortably see off Almeria 3-1 in the Copa del Rey round of 32 tie at Juegos Mediterraneos.
It would be Los Rojillos who opened the scoring inside 16 minutes. Dejan Lekic, who had been used mainly as a bit-part player by Jose Luis Mendilibar, scored to hand the visitors a deserved lead. It got better for Osasuna on the half hour as referee Miguel Angel Lasa awarded a penalty which Javed Nekounam duly converted to put his side firmly in control.
The tie looked to be over before the break as the hosts imploded. Xavier Annunziata lashed a strike past Diego Garcia for 3-0 after 40 minutes. Lucas Alvarez's side was then reduced to 10 men, after Bautista Daniel was shown a straight red, leaving the hosts in disarray.
Marcelo Silva did reduce the deficit late on, but the damage had already been done in the first half.

Javier Aguirre's side took the lead through Jorge Orti in the seventh minute. However, Los Blanquillos were only ahead for 15 minutes before Alcorcon restored parity. The Madrid-based side, who shocked Real Madrid at this stage two years ago, levelled thanks to Oriol Riera's first goal of the season.
Despite further chances, Javier Aguirre's men failed to break down their lower league hosts, with the tie finely poised ahead of the second leg.

Espanyol failed to break down a resolute Celta as the sides drew 0-0 at Balaidos.
Mauricio Pochettino's mean were kept well at bay by Los Celestes, in a game which saw few attacking chances created.
Paco Herrera's men were threatening in the second period, but were unable to convert the chances afforded to them, leaving the tie finely poised in the return leg at Estadio Cornella El-Prat.

Real Betis was handed a shock 1-0 first leg defeat by Segunda Division side Cordoba at Nuevo Arcangel.
In a balanced and competitive first half, Pepe Mel's side failed to seriously trouble Los Califas, with fouls becoming prevalent in a combative period which saw three Verdiblancos players booked.
Despite this, the hosts were in the ascendancy, and their perseverance paid off in stoppage time. Pepe Diaz directed his effort past Fabricio in the opposing goal, to leave Pepe Mel's men with a mountain to climb in the second leg.

In a balanced game on the Balearic island, Manuel Preciado's outfit stole the advantage through Juan Ramon Muniz's strike with 10 minutes to go.
Joaquin Caparros' men were devoid of any attacking creativity, leaving them with work to do ahead of the second leg at El Molinon.

|Racing Santander came from behind in Cantabria to clinch a thrilling 3-2 first leg victory over Rayo Vallecano at El Sardinero. |
Cristian Stuani's sixth-minute opener had the home side, which has collected four points from its last two league outings, in front early.
But Rayo clawed its way back into the contest, with Michel equalizing just before halftime. Miguel Michu edged the Madrid club in front, and with seven minutes to go, looked good value for its lead.
However, Juanjo Gonzalez's men turned the encounter on its head again. Stuani equalized after 83 minutes to put Los Verdiblancos back into the tie, before Ariel Nahuelpan left the hosts in command.

Malaga narrowly edged out Getafe at Coliseum Alfonso Perez to take control of the tie thanks to Juanmi's winner six minutes from time.
The hosts created chances through Adrian Colunga and Miku but were unable to seriously threaten Willy Caballero in the visitors' goal.
Ruud van Nistelrooy spurned opportunities for Manuel Pellegrini's men as the second half wore on, but Malaga ultimately took the lead. Juanmi collected the ball and smashed a strike past Jordi Codina to seal the win.

Villarreal needed an 83rd minute equalizer to salvage a 1-1 first leg draw against Segunda Division B side Mirandes at Anduva.
Carlos Pouso's men, who have been unbeaten in all competitions this season, took a shock lead against their illustrious visitors. After sustained pressure, Alain broke the deadlock, slotting past visiting keeper Cesar after 26 minutes.
Despite the Yellow Submarine squandering various chances, their blushes were to be spared seven minutes from time. Substitute Borja Valero came on to avert a shock defeat.

Despite the visitors' finding their rhythm as the first half grew on, it would be Depor who struck again. This time, Saul capitalized on lax defending to make it 2-0 inside the first half.
Juan Ignacio Martinez's men had chances through Nabil El-Zhar and Carlos Aranda, but ultimately would be unsuccessful. Aranda did reduce the deficit on 78 minutes, only for Saul to restore Depor's two-goal lead with Hector Rodas sent off late on.

Sevilla rebounded from defeat to Levante at the weekend to edge to an unconvincing 1-0 win against Segunda Divison B side San Roque at Ciudad de Lepe.
Frederic Kanoute's 12th minute strike gave Los Nervionenses the lead with Marcelino's men holding a 1-0 advantage at the break.
Despite their considerable strength and experience in all areas of the park, the visitors couldn't find a way past their spirited Andalusian neighbors again, with all to play for in next Tuesday's second leg at the Ramon Pizjuan.
