CONCACAF held its 32nd Ordinary Congress last weekend, and a major shake-up to the international calendar was tabled. According to several reports, the governing body for the North America, Central America and the Caribbean are close to implementing a version of UEFA’s “League of Nations.”
The new friendly format will replace European friendlies from September 2018, and a CONCACAF version could follow soon after.
“A League Of Nations” has several benefits, which include sponsorship opportunities, greater experience for smaller nations and a perception of the games being less than friendlies.
