Indianapolis Colts starting safety LaRon Landry is ruled out for Sunday's game at the San Francisco 49ers because of an ankle injury.
Landry, who leads the NFL with 26 tackles, was injured last Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.
Joe Lefeged and Sergio Brown are the candidates to start in place of Landry.
The Colts have several injuries. Starting linebacker Pat Angerer is doubtful with a knee injury. He has not practiced this week. Defensive lineman Cory Redding (back), safety Antoine Bethea (toe) and center Samson Satele (elbow) are questionable.
Running back Vick Ballard (knee), tight end Dwayne Allen (hip) and guard Donald Thomas (quad) are all on injured reserve.
