Jason Campbell had a big day for the offense, but it was not enough to avoid a close loss for the Browns against the Patriots, 27-26, in Foxborough.
Campbell found the end zone three times on 29 of 44 passing for 391 yards and no interceptions. Tom Brady gave the Patriots a big boost, and ended up going 32 of 52 with 418 yards through the air, two touchdowns, one pick and one fumble.
Willis McGahee rushed for 33 yards on 14 carries. Jordan Cameron was a highlight, catching nine balls for 121 yards with a touchdown.
The Cleveland defense struggled to defend the passing attack, but was able to slow down the run, giving up 87 yards rushing and 418 passing. They tormented Brady with four sacks.
Patriots running back Shane Vereen could not be contained, putting up 153 receiving yards and one touchdown. Wide receiver Julian Edelman also performed well with 64 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Browns are at home to take on the Bears (6-6) next week while the Patriots travel to Miami Gardens to meet the Dolphins (6-6).
