The Citadel takes care of Brevard 79-68

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Marshall Harris II scored 22 points, Matt Van Scyoc had 21 and Brian White had a double-double as The Citadel turned back Brevard College 79-68 Wednesday night.

Harris III and Van Scyoc combined to hit all 19 of their free throws as the Bulldogs (4-8) hit 31 of 33 from the stripe while coming off a 10-day break for finals. White had 13 points and 11 rebounds.

The Tornados (2-7) got 16 points apiece from Darius Moose, Trevon Shaw and reserve Dominique Pickett and 15 from Miles Leathers.

The teams traded the lead in the first half. Leathers put Brevard up 27-26 with 5:10 left Ashton Moore made a jumper and a 3 to start a 9-0 run, allowing The Citadel to take a 35-29 lead at the half.

The Tornados were within three, 52-49, as Leathers had a 3 and a three-point play but a 10-2 Citadel run followed.
