The Citadel beats Chattanooga 48-46 to end skid

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) Lawrence Miller scored 15 points as The Citadel ended an 11-game losing streak with a 48-46 victory over Chattanooga on Saturday night.

Chattanooga led 43-36 with 5:50 remaining, but the Bulldogs (5-22, 2-14 Southern Conference) scored the next seven points, tying it on Miller's 3-pointer with 4:17 to go.

After Omar Wattad put the Mocs (10-19, 4-12) back ahead by a point with a free throw, a 3-pointer by Marshall Harris III put the Citadel ahead to stay, 46-44 with 1:58 left.

Mike Groselle's layup pushed the Bulldogs' lead to 48-44, and Ronrico White's layup brought Chattanooga within 48-46 at the 0:44 mark.

Jahmal Burroughs' steal from Groselle gave the ball back to Chattanooga, but Keegan Bell twice missed 3-point tries.

Groselle had 15 rebounds for The Citadel.

Dontay Hampton scored 12 points and Drazen Zlovaric 11 for the Mocs, who shot 32.1 percent (17 of 53) for the game.
