New York Rangers forward Chris Kreider missed his team’s Sunday night game at the Edmonton Oilers with an upper-body injury.

It was reported that Kreider had gone “somewhere else” for testing, possibly back to New York. The Rangers have two more games on this road trip before returning home on Nov. 20.

New York coach Alain Vigneault said he didn’t have more details on Kreider’s condition.

“He went through the meetings this morning and he’s not playing tonight,” Vigneault said. “I wouldn’t want to speculate, he’s being seen by our doctors, and we’ll tell you later.”

Kreider missed four games earlier this season with neck spasms and Vigneault reportedly noted he was unaware if this issue was related. The 25-year-old Kreider notched one assist in 13:10 of action in New York’s Saturday win over the Calgary Flames. He has put up 11 points in 11 games this season and has picked up four assists in six games since he came back from his neck spasms.

The Rangers beat the Oilers 3-1 on Sunday to move to 2-0-0 on the road trip and 12-4-0 on the season.

UPDATE: After the game, Vigneault said that the team will know more about Kreider “in a day or two.”
