New South Florida head football coach Charlie Strong didn't waste time after senior defensive back Hassan Childs was shot and arrested in a road-rage incident. Strong announced on Tuesday that Childs was dismissed from the Bulls football program.
"When you look at this university and how great an institution it is, and the football program, it is a privilege to represent this program," Strong told the Tampa Bay Times. "And there are standards and there are values that we uphold, and our players understand it is an obligation and it is a responsibility to represent it the right way."
The shooter in Childs' incident has not been charged with a crime while Childs faces three counts of aggravated assault and a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession and is accused of pointing a gun at the car of the shooter and his family.
