Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kyle Williams was placed on season-ending injured reserve Friday after tearing an ACL.
Before the team announced the move, Williams confirmed it first on Twitter.
"Saddened to say (that) I will be missing the remainder of the season due to another tear of my ACL," he wrote.
In the team's announcement, the Chiefs said they re-signed wide receiver Chad Hall, whom they released last week to make room for Williams on the roster. Williams was picked up by the Chiefs after he was cut by the San Francisco 49ers on Nov. 14.
Williams had 12 receptions for 113 yards with San Francisco this year, but had no catches in his only game with Kansas City.
The Chiefs' receiving corps includes Dwayne Bowe, Donnie Avery, Dexter McCluster, Junior Hemingway, A.J. Jenkins and Hall.
The 9-1 Chiefs host the San Diego Chargers on Sunday.
