The Kansas City Chiefs signed veteran offensive guard Rokevious Watkins on Saturday, according to multiple reports.
Watkins, at 6-foot-3, 338 pounds, was recently cut by the St. Louis Rams after reporting to training camp overweight.
Watkins a fifth round draft pick in 2012 out of South Carolina, played in just one game as a rookie because of an ankle injury.
He is suspended for the first game of this season for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy.
The Chiefs cut 6-foot-6, 354-pound offensive tackle Mike Tepper to make room for Watkins on the roster. Tepper has played for the Indianapolis Colts and the Dallas Cowboys.
