Josh McCown had a big day for the offense, but it was not enough to avoid an ugly loss for the Bears against the Rams, 42-21, in St. Louis.
McCown put together a solid performance, finishing 36 for 47 with 352 yards passing, two touchdowns, one pick and one fumble. For the Rams, Kellen Clemens wound up 10 for 22 with 167 yards passing, one touchdown and no interceptions.
Matt Forte ran for 77 yards on 16 attempts and had seven receptions for 40 yards with one fumble. Brandon Marshall was a top performer, snagging 10 balls for 117 yards while adding a touchdown.
The Chicago defense struggled against the running game, but was able to slow down the pass, allowing 258 yards rushing and 167 passing. They sacked Clemens two times.
Rams tight end Jared Cook could not be contained, putting up 80 receiving yards and one touchdown. Running back Benny Cunningham was also solid with 109 rushing yards and one touchdown.
Next week, the Bears head to Minneapolis to face the Vikings (2-8) while the Rams go to San Francisco to play the 49ers (6-4).
