Chestnut wins sixth straight hot dog eating contest

Joey Chestnut remains the world's best eater of hot dogs.
The San Jose, Ca. native won his sixth straight Coney Island hot dog eating contest on Wednesday, scarfing down 68 hot dogs and buns to win the mustard-yellow championship belt. The man known as "Jaws" earned $10,000 for his performance.
The 68 wienies consumed tied his personal best and the record. He finished off 62 hot dogs last year. The six wins tie him with Takeru Kobayashi, who didn't compete.
Tim Janus ate 52 hot dogs to claim a $5,000 second prize.
Sonya Thomas swallowed 45 hot dogs to win the women's competition.
An annual tradition, the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest is in its 97th year.
