On Wednesday night, Chapecoense was supposed to play Atletico Nacional in Medellin, Colombia in the first leg of the final of the Copa Sudamericana. But the Brazilian club’s plane crashed, killing 71 people, including most of the first team.

Atletico Nacional’s fans showed up to their Atanasio Girardot stadium anyway. Not to watch the game, which was obviously canceled, but to pay tribute to the victims, to hold a vigil, to mourn.

Later on Wednesday, Chapecoense’s own fans and players who didn’t make the trip would hold a vigil at their Arena Conde.
