The Latest: Class of 2018 Florida wide receiver Kenneth Channelle has seen a number of schools recently offer and thinks several more may be on the way. But one program has already started to make him feel like a priority. Since receiving an offer from Central Michigan, Channellee said he’s been in direct contact with head coach John Bonamego, a unique approach that has the Chippewas standing out early in his recruitment. Rivals.com caught up with Channelle at the recent Rivals 3-Stripe Camp event in Orlando to get the latest.

In His Words: “Central Michigan has been talking to me on an every day basis. I’ve been talking to Head Coach Bonamego mostly. He’s a nice guy. He’s trying to build a relationship with me. I’m considering it. I have a whole other year to choose so I’m weighing my options. I want to get up there and see campus in the summer. It means a lot to me to have the head coach take such a big interest in me and that’s why they’re highly considered for me right now.”

On other upcoming visits: “I plan on going to see Marshall soon, Georgia Southern and Georgia.”

Rivals Reaction: Central Michigan has been known to recruit Florida in recent years and it appears Channelle is a prime early target. The next big step will be getting him on campus for a visit, something he said will likely happen in the summer. The fact that Bonamego is taking such a big interest in recruiting Channelle shows just how big of a target he is in the class.
