Cecil Shorts was not at practice on Thursday due to a hamstring injury. We break down the fantasy implications.
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Cecil Shorts didn't practice on Thursday due to a hamstring injury, according to John Oesher of the team website. The injury has bothered Shorts off and on for much of the season. He practiced with the team on Wednesday in a limited fashion, so it's unclear if he suffered some kind of setback or if the plan was always to rest him on Thursday.
Shorts has been disappointing this season, playing in six games and catching 28 passes for 256 yards and one touchdown. He's played in Jacksonville's last four games, but has had very little impact on the offense. Shorts entered the season as the starter with a considerable amount of hype behind him, but he has struggled to find consistency, and the hamstring obviously doesn't help.
Fantasy Impact: At this point, his status for Week 10 against the Dallas Cowboys is totally up in the air. We'll have to see if he manages to practice on Friday and what his official designation is for the game. That said, he simply doesn't have much fantasy value. He's not the top option for the Jaguars anymore and he's not really worth keeping around for fantasy owners.
