Northwestern announced Saturday that men's basketball coach Bill Carmody will not return next season.
Northwestern finished 13-19 this season, including losing their final nine games.
In Carmody's tenure, Northwestern failed to qualify for the NCAA Tournament. It did make the NIT tournaments in 2009 and 2012.
Duke associate head coach Chris Collins, Bucknell coach Dave Paulsen, Valparaiso's Bryce Drew and Northern Iowa's Ben Jacobson are likely candidates, according to the Chicago Tribune.

---Butler, Creighton and Xavier will join the new Big East basketball conference starting in the fall, according to ESPN.
The schools have not officially withdrawn from their current conferences, but an announcement is expected next week. The new conference will also include the Catholic 7 schools -- DePaul, Georgetown, Marquette, Providence, Seton Hall, St. John's and Villanova. Butler and Xavier are coming from the Atlantic 10 and Creighton from the Missouri Valley.
