Carmelo Anthony put up 35 points to help the New York Knicks beat the Los Angeles Lakers, 110-103. New York (17-27) has now won back-to-back games after defeating Charlotte Bobcats on Friday.
Anthony finished 14-31 from the field (2-7 on 3-pointers) and 5-6 from the free throw line. Other key performers for New York were Raymond Felton with 20 points and 5 assists, J.R. Smith with 16 points and 6 rebounds, and Tyson Chandler with 13 points and 14 rebounds. On 8-13 shooting, including 6-8 from behind the arc, Jodie Meeks scored 24 points for Los Angeles in the loss.
Los Angeles (16-29) has now dropped their last four straight contests.
Coming up, the Knicks battle the Boston Celtics, who are 15-30 on the season. The Lakers match up with the Indiana Pacers, currently sitting at 34-9 this year. The Knicks came up short against Boston each of the last two times they've met.
