Carlos Villanueva: Joins Cubs Staff

Update: Villanueva agreed to a two-year, $10 million contract with the Cubs on Thursday, CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports.

Recommendation: Villanueva will head to the South Side after spending the last two seasons with the Blue Jays. He turned into a dependable swing pitcher for Toronto, starting 29 of the 71 games he appeared in over the last two seasons and posting a respectable 4.11 ERA over that span. The Cubs have beefed up their rotation this offseason, and may not be finished, so it's looking likely that Villanueva will begin next season in a bullpen role.
