Cardinals QB Kolb having MRI on ribs

Arizona Cardinals quarterback is having an MRI Monday on his injured ribs, according to the Arizona Republic.

Kolb hurt his ribs with about 2 minutes left in regulation of Sunday's 19-16 overtime loss to the visiting Buffalo Bills.

Two Bills players landed on Kolb when he tried to fall forward with the ball. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said the injury was caused by Kolb landing on the ball. He was on the field for several minutes while being checked out by the medical staff. He was able to walk off the field.

Whisenhunt announced Monday that X-rays on Kolb's ribs and side came back negative but they were "pretty sore" so he is having an MRI to find out the extent of the injury.

John Skelton replaced Kolb and finished the game.
