The Arizona Cardinals placed starting left tackle Levi Brown on injured reserve with a torn biceps, according to NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk.
Arizona also made 12 cuts on Friday to trim its roster to 75 players. The deadline to do so is Monday.
Brown's loss is huge for the Cardinals, who have not decided who will start at quarterback. Kevin Kolb and John Skelton are competing for the job. Brown's job is protecting the quarterback's blind side but the Cardinals' offensive line in general has had difficulty keeping defenses away from the quarterback this preseason -- whether it is Kolb or Skelton behind center.
