Top prospect Kolten Wong will join the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday from Triple-A Memphis for their series opener against the Chicago Cubs.
Wong, selected No. 22 overall by the Cardinals in the 2011 draft, was hitting .303 with 10 home runs amd 45 RBIs with 20 stolen basses in 107 games for Memphis.
The 22-year-old has played second base exclusively in the minor leagues and has a .301 average in parts of three seasons.
To make room for Wong on the roster, the Cardinals will send outfielder Adron Chambers to Memphis.
