The Cleveland Indians reassigned right-handers Matt Capps and Daisuke Matsuzaka to their minor-league camp on Sunday.
Matsuzaka, a major-league veteran, will begin the season as a starter for triple-A Columbus.
The Indians re-signed Capps to a new contract after he failed to make their Opening Day roster. Capps posted a 1-4 record with 14 saves in 30 appearances for the Minnesota Twins last season. He has 138 career saves.
Also sent to the Indians' minor-leauge camp were right-hander Jerry Gil, catcher Omir Santos, shortstop Luis Hernandez and right fielder Matt Carson.
