The Power Play Report looks at the Ducks and the Islanders who have yet to score and the great Washington power play

After having the best power play in the NHL last season, the Washington Capitals continue the trend this season as they once again are the best at 26.7 percent, scoring on 20 of 75 chances.

Pittsburgh was second last season but are currently sixth despite missing James Neal and Kris Letang for significant stretches of the young season.

The big surprise is the Philadelphia Flyers who were third last season after being first in 2011-12 in power play goals scored. They are currently 29th and second last, ahead of only the Winnipeg Jets with a 9.4 efficiency rating.

The Ducks have also slipped as they were fourth best last season and were the worst in the NHL at the start of last week but they doubled their power play goals this week to eighth and are now residing in 26th place at 11.8 percent.
