The Capcom Cup 2016 tournament has come to a close, with the finals taking place at the Anaheim Convention Center this weekend.

It was an all-American grand final, with Du “NuckleDu” Dang placing first and Ricki Ortiz placed second. Japanese player Ryota “Kazunoko” Inoue finished in third place, and Tatsuya “Haitani” Haitani placed fourth.

NuckleDu walks away with $230,000 for first place, while Ricki Ortiz is rewarded $60,000.

Capcom Cup 2016 featured 32 of the world’s best Street Fighter V players, who qualified throughout the year-long Capcom Pro Tour system. The main event was home to many upsets, with multiple high-profile names knocked out the first day of the tournament. The total prize pool for this year’s event was $350,000.

Capcom also revealed new gameplay footage featuring Akuma, who will be released in 2017. Players can pre-order the 2017 Character Pass to get access to Akuma when he’s available, as well as five completely new characters.

Yahoo Esports was in attendance at Capcom Cup 2016. We’ll have plenty of player interviews and more from the show going up on site, so be sure to stay tuned for more Street Fighter V content.
