Canucks' Burrows signs four-year extension

The Vancouver Canucks signed Alexandre Burrows to a four-year contract extension on Friday.

The team didn't release financial details, but TSN reported that the forward will earn an average of $4.5 million annually.

Burrows, 31, was about to enter the final season of a four-year contract. He could've become an unrestricted free agent after the 2012-13 season.

He collected 28 goals and 24 assists in 80 games last season, led the team with seven game-winning goals and was second with a plus-24 rating.
