Update: Johnson, who has been dealing with left knee soreness and is expected to play Sunday against the Vikings, clarified the statement that he made Thursday regarding an injury he sustained back in Week 4, Chris McCosky of the Detroit News reports. "I would like to clarify some of my comments from yesterday," Johnson said in a statement released Friday. "I am aware that I did not suffer a concussion in our game against the Vikings earlier this year. I misused the terms 'nerve damage' and 'concussion.'"
Recommendation: "I have not suffered any nerve damage nor have I received any treatment for nerve damage," Johnson added. "I did suffer a stinger and have also experienced the kind of wear and tear that most NFL players are dealing with at this point in the season." Johnson's retraction Friday makes his Week 4 injury sound much less ominous, with his knee issue more of an immediate and pressing concern, albeit one he continues to play through.
