Bucknell 66, Loyola-Maryland 46

Loyola-Maryland kept the game close through much of the first half, but the Greyhounds had no answer for Bucknell big man Mike Muscala on Friday night at Reitz Arena.

Muscala, a 6-foot-11, 234-pound senior, had a season-high 29 points and eight rebounds, leading the Bison to a 66-46 victory over the Greyounds. Muscala scored 15 points in the first half and 14 in the second, making 13 of 21 field-goal attempts.

Muscala led four players who scored in double figures for the Bison (12-2), who bounced back from a 79-67 loss to Princeton to win for the seventh time in eight games. Guard Bryson Johnson scored 11 points. Forward Joe Willman and guard Cameron Ayers scored 10 points apiece.

Junior guard Dylon Cormier scored a team-high 13 points but made just 5 of 15 field-goal attempts for the Greyhounds (9-3), who have lost three of their last five. Senior forward Erik Etherly, who came into the contest averaging nearly 16 points per game, was held to three points on 1-of-3 shooting.

The Greyhounds shot just 35.7 percent from the field. Their starters were a combined 14 of 44 from the field and 0 of 9 from 3-point range. The Bison shot 49.1 percent.
