Bryan Morris: Candidate for Saves?

RotoWire.com Staff

Update: Morris becomes a darkhorse candidate for saves following the tentative trade of Joel Hanrahan.

Recommendation: Jason Grilli will likely start the season as Pittsburgh's closer, but any slip-ups could lead to Morris or Mark Melancon (provided he's included in the Hanrahan deal). A former starting pitcher, Morris posted a 2.67 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 79:17 K:BB ratio in 81 Triple-A relief innings in 2012. He gave up one run in five innings and five games with Pittsburgh as a September callup.
