Browns release Ausar Walcott

The Cleveland Browns have followed the New England Patriots lead, although quite honestly the sting won't be nearly as bad for them in releasing a player who has found trouble with the law.

The Browns released linebacker Ausar Walcott, who has been arrested on an attempted murder charge in New Jersey after he allegedly left a man in critical condition.

The Browns issued no other comments other than to say Walcott had been released.

The Patriots, of course, released star tight end Aaron Hernandez on Wednesday after he was arrested in connection with the homocide death of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd.
